My week at home :)

After a lot of stress from university and being in my final year, I was looking forward to going home to relax and see my family after a few weeks away from them.

It was lovely to be back home and see my family (well, most of them)

On the Sunday me and my mom went to Webbs of Wychbold, a local garden centre where there is hobbycraft, a food hall amongst other things. We LOVE cake and therefore, wherever we go we always have cake! I had a cup of tea and a berry muffin and it was lovely :) It was lovely to spend the day with my mom!

Monday evening I spent with my dad, Jacqui and Lexi where my dad told me of his plans to propose to Jacqui and showed me the ring! It was a lovely evening with them and felt like our own little celebration of our ever expanding family!
Congratulations to you guys :)

While at home, I went to my sisters friends 30th party where I spent some time with my Nan, which was lovely. Also, I spent time with my sister and her boyfriend both at the party and when we went shopping. It showed that the little things are the best :)

After coming back to university feeling relaxed it was lovely to go out with my uni friends (missing Poppy). We went to a cocktail bar called the Dairy, where the cocktails are served in milk bottles and there are lots of varieties! After this, we ended up in a karaoke bar which was the best fun I have had in a long time! That night just showed how much I am going to miss the friends I have made at uni and the fun we have!

Also, two engagements in one week! My sister also got engaged this weekend, which was very exciting too! I look forward to going home and celebrating!
Congratulations to you guys too :)

February's Films!

So February has ended and I feel like I have watched alot of films this month and i'm at 13 films of 22 for this year so I am definitely going to reach my target! Having this challenge has made me watch a lot of films that I have wanted to see for a while but I just haven't got round to!

J.Edgar (2011)
This is a film I have wanted to see since it came out but I have not got round to it until recently. J.Edgar focuses on J. Edgar Hoover's life as the director of the FBI. Alot of controversy surrounds Hoover's time as director and this film draws on elements of this controversy. I really enjoyed this film, it was slow at the start but once it got into it it was very interesting. I would definitely recommend this film, it left you thinking about the line between right and wrong, and what it takes to catch a criminal!

Mr Peabody and Sherman (2014)
This film, although it's a childrens film, was really enjoyable! Mr Peabody (voiced by Ty Burrell, who I LOVE in Modern Family) adopts a child, Sherman, and creates a time machine to educate Sherman. Obviously, this causes trouble, and there are problems with the fact that Mr Peabody is a dog. This film was a proper feel good film, with a sweet ending! I really liked this film :)

Selma (2015)
I saw this film at the cinema, and was going to write a blogpost reviewing it but I felt I couldn't do it justice. This films focuses on Martin Luther King's fight in Selma, Alabama for the right to vote for black people in America. This film was really good, as it focused on a time that not many people know about from Martin Luther King's life. It was after the 'I have a dream' speech but before his death. This film was amazing, emotional and hard hitting, i would definitely recommend this film!

 Struck By Lightning (2012)
This film was written by and starred Chris Colfer (Kurt from Glee) who I think is fabulous! I was abit apprehensive about watching this film, I thought it wasn't going to be very good however, I really enjoyed it! The film focuses on a teenager who is unhappy at school and can't wait to leave and start his life away from his parents and school. The film has a strange start and you're not really sure where the film is going to go but it's enjoyable :)
 The Great Gatsby (2013)
This film was just weird, there's no other way to explain it. This film was really hyped up and so I expected to be dazzled. There was no storyline and computer effects should not be used for real things, such as houses and other realistic things. It just did not look right in this film! Also, I didn't like the fact that the film was based in the 1920's and yet there was hardly any music from the 20's but i still felt the need to finish the film, but i'm not sure if that's because I read the film synopsis online halfway through. It was good but definitely overhyped!
These were the films of February 2015, I look forward to see what I watch in March
