Avengers Age of Ultron (2015)
This film was amazing, I loved it! (Blog post up now)
Cropsey (2009)
This documentary focuses on two friends who knew of a urban legend surrounding their hometown about a haunted area where a supernatural creature would kill children. It turns out that there is some truth in the legend surrounding their town. The location of the haunted area used to be a mental institution which was shut down due to horrific treatment. After the institution is shut down, some of the workers and patients live in the derelict area or the tunnels underneath. One of these workers, Andre Rand was found guilty of murdering a girl, along with other children who went missing. I enjoyed this documentary, it was interesting to see that there is history behind urban legends. It was sad to hear the stories of the children who were taken, and hearing that some of the bodies are yet to be found.
Killer Legends (2014)
After watching Cropsey, I saw that the same people who made Cropsey had made Killer Legends. This film sees the same two friends travel across the US in order to find out if there was any truth behind some of the biggest urban legends such as, the man with the hook, the candyman, babysitters being murdered and killer clowns. It turns out that there is some truth behind these urban legends. This documentary was very interesting. We hear these urban legends and they are often used in the media, such as films. We do not realise that they have started somewhere and that their history is bleak, we just see them as fictional ways to teach people lessons but there is more to it than that.
Wreck-it Ralph (2012)
Wreck-it Ralph is a Disney film about a video game villain, Wreck-it Ralph who has had enough of being a villain. He gets sick of being left out and ignored by the others in the game that he decides that he has had enough and leaves his game in order to become a hero elsewhere and return to his game as a hero! This film's starts off with such a good storyline and the way the characters within the game travel is so clever, but I found this film very boring. It just didn't seem to go anywhere after a great set-up. I was disappointed and won't watch this film again.
Hop (2011)
At the start of April, it was Easter and there is always films on TV. This film was all about the Easter bunny so I thought I would give it a watch. The film is based on the Easter bunny's son E.B., who is the heir to the Easter Bunny title. He decides that instead of being the Easter bunny, he wants to be a rockstar, a famous drummer. He runs away from home and teams up with Fred O'Hare who can't seem to find a job he loves. While E.B. is away, one of the chicks tries to take over. Also, Fred is trying to find a job but E.B. is distracting him. Obviously, chaos ensues. This film was very cute and is a feel good film. Its definitely aimed at children, but I enjoyed this too! That's it for April, bit late again but University kept me busy!!
