The Theory of Everything Review (No Spoilers)

The second week of visiting Orange Wednesday and this time we went to see The Theory of Everything.

The film is based on the novel written by Jane Hawking, exploring her life when married to Stephen Hawking, from when they were students together to his diagnosis of Motor Neuron Disease and his success in physics.
Stephen Hawking was 21 when diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease and given a life expectancy of 2 years. Watching this film as a 21 year old, I found it quite moving to think at the same age he was given a death sentence.
It is inspirational to see the journey of Stephen Hawking as he defied all odds and is still alive at 72.

However, this movie was essentially a love story between Stephen and Jane. It was a very cute film, seeing the daily struggles of not only Stephen but also Jane, as she cared for him but their love for each other was still strong.
Seeing Eddie Redmayne portray the degeneration of Stephen Hawking to someone who cannot speak, walk or move was truly moving. You do not think of the man Hawking once was, but just as a scientist sat in a wheelchair who talks through a machine. Watching the decline, even through an actor, was inspiring and gave me a greater respect for Hawking and others with Motor Neuron Disease.
Hawking even said himself that when he watched this film he, at times, thought it was himself on screen. He also shed a tear when he saw the film. If that is not enough to make you see the film, then I don't know what is!

I strongly recommend this film to all.
Here is the trailer, if you are not familiar with this film:
